The Children of Vailoria

A Secrets of Azuriol novel

A century after civil war fractured Azuriol, sacred monuments disappear and forgotten symbols begin to return. When a group of friends sets out to uncover the truth, their search leads them into a history their country was never meant to remember.

01Overview

What the record reveals

A century after a civil war fractured the nation of Azuriol, the highland city of Vailoria stirs once more. Strange disturbances ripple through its streets. Signs that could echo a conflict long buried.

When a group of young friends set out to uncover the truth, their search leads them deep into the forgotten corners of their country's past. What begins as curiosity soon becomes revelation, buried truths and a faith once forbidden.

Their discoveries will challenge everything they've been taught about their history, their country, and the power that still reaches for them in the present.

As they piece together what was erased, they begin to see that the battle for Azuriol's future is bound to the truth that was silenced a hundred years before.

Some secrets were never meant to stay hidden. And some lights, once found, can never be extinguished.

A glimpse from the story

The first clues do not arrive as answers. They arrive as absence, whispers, and the unsettling sense that the city remembers more than its people are allowed to say.

05Reader response

What readers are saying

Early responses to the story from readers and fellow authors.

A thoroughly enjoyable read from beginning to end. Christina Nelson has created a believable world filled with memorable characters, quiet suspense, and a storyline that continually made me wonder what would happen next. The thoughtful way the ending connects back to the beginning is particularly satisfying. An excellent debut novel that leaves you looking forward to the next adventure.

I found it hard to put this book down once I started reading — early in the morning, lunch times, late at night and on holiday. This creative novel takes you to a time when humanity drifted away from God into their own beliefs, trying to erase Christianity. However, The Children of Vailoria uncovers, through innocent investigations, that there is far more to their world than they ever imagined.
